This is a beautiful small inlaid jewellery box with a very pretty heart inlaid feature to the lid. It was made in Sorrento, Italy and it dates to the 1970s/80s.
This is a beautiful small inlaid jewellery box. It was made in Sorrento, Italy and it dates to the 1970s/80s.
The Exterior
This box is made of Satinwood and has a beautiful glossy high polished finish. The lid has a very pretty inlaid heart with beautiful inlaid flowers within it. It also has a decorative dark wood frame and satinwood stringing. The inlay is made up of several varieties of wood.
The bottom of the box has retained its original MADE IN ITALY label.
The box is complete with its original gold metal piano hinge. This is a quality stop hinge that prevents the lid from falling back.
The Interior
The interior has a single small storage compartment which is lined with plush brushed felt. The lining is a lovely deep chocolate brown shade that complements the dark wood frame on the lid.
Condition
This beautiful box is in excellent condition with barely any wear.
All of the inlay is present and intact.
The interior lining is in superb clean condition with no splits or fraying.
The box appears to have been seldom used, if ever.
