Lovely antique Edwardian leather jewellery box, dating to 1900-1910. Newly painted Eggshell Blue finish to the leather. New satin linings to the interior. Original chrome hinges and working lock and key

This is a beautiful Edwardian jewellery box, dating to 1900-1910. It has been beautifully restored and refurbished and is complete with its original working lock and key.
The Exterior
The exterior has a leather covering which has a newly painted Eggshell Blue finish. The lid has its original inset brass plate and handle. This is a lovely large feature and the brass is nicely polished.
There is a new polished brass escutcheon to the keyhole which compliments the plate and handle on the lid.
The box is complete with its original chrome hinges and original working chrome lock and key. All of the chrome has a polished finish.
The lock is stamped SECURE LOCK, ENGLISH MAKE, and also has a patent design no.
There is a new green felt covering on the bottom of the box which will protect the surfaces of furniture.
The Interior
The interior has a new French polished hardwood tray which has 3 storage compartments. The compartments have new satin linings. There are new blue silk pull tabs on the tray which enable you to lift it out with ease.
There is a further larger storage compartment beneath the removable tray. This compartment plus the inside of the lid, have beautiful new padded satin panels. All of the satin is a colourful teal blue shade. This contrasts beautifully against the paler Eggshell Blue.

Condition
This lovely box is in very good condition and has sound structure. There is some light tarnish on the brass plate.
The interior satin, being new, is in excellent clean unworn condition.

We would like to make you aware that antique locks can occasionally malfunction. They are already very old and will naturally have some wear from age and use.
We are not responsible for locks that malfunction from further age and use once boxes are purchased.
