1940s English vintage jewellery box finished with Pigskin leather. Lovely polished brass lockable catch and original key. Beautiful original soft velour linings. Stamped Made in England, PIGSKIN.

This is a quality English vintage leather jewellery box, dating to the 1940s.
The Exterior
This box has a textured pigskin leather finish and a lovely polished brass clasp with a working lock. It comes with its original key. The clasp has a quality spring mechanism. You simply push down the raised section to release the catch.
The Interior
The interior has multiple storage compartments plus a specific ring storage section. The compartments have high-quality cantilever hinges and they pull out to each side of the box.
The top two compartments have 4 narrow divided sections. These sections are an ideal size for small pieces of jewellery such as earrings, little pendants and rings. The compartments beneath have no divisions and are an ideal size for larger pieces of jewellery such as big pendants, brooches, linked bracelets and necklaces.
There is a further larger compartment in the base of the box which is roomy enough for narrow bangles and watches. Next to this compartment is the ring storage section which will hold up to 10 rings depending on their shape and size.
All of the compartments and the inside of the lid have a leather finish and their original soft plush velour linings.
The inside of the lid has an embossed gold 'Made in England PIGSKIN' stamp.
Condition
This box is in lovely vintage condition with just a few minor scuffs/light marks to the leather. Please note the leather to the bottom of the box has a fair amount of friction wear. Obviously this cannot be seen unless you turn the box over.
The interior velour linings are still in excellent condition with no stains, splits or fraying.
The hinges are all still firmly attached and in very good working order.
The clasp is still in very good working order and locks securely with its key.
