Beautiful French antique jewellery box, circa 1900. Lovely Rosewood veneer and very pretty floral marquetry inlay. Beautifully refurbished interior with satin and floral paper linings.

This is a lovely French antique jewellery box with beautiful marquetry inlay. It has a stunning refurbished interior and is in very good condition.
The Exterior
This box has a lovely Rosewood veneer and beautiful floral marquetry inlay on the lid. It is beautifully finished with inlaid stringing and has complimentary circular inlay around the keyhole.
The box is complete with its original brass hinges, lock and key.
Note
The lock does not function and the key is for decorative purposes only.
The bottom of the box has a new felt covering which will protect the surfaces of furniture.
The Interior
The interior has been beautifully refurbished by our skilled box restorer.
The base of the compartment has a new padded teal blue satin panel. The walls of the compartment have new teal blue satin linings.
The inside of the lid has beautiful new floral patterned paper linings. This is light teal blue with gold highlights to the flowers.

Age
Late Victorian, circa 1900.
Condition
This lovely box is in very good condition. It has minor light wear from age and honest use.
There is minor fading to the veneer on the lid. This will not fade further if you keep the box out of direct sunlight.
All of the inlay is present and intact.
The hinges are still in good working order.
The interior linings, being new, are in beautiful clean unworn condition.
There is a minor superficial hairline crack on the right side of the lid. This is barely noticeable and does not affect the structure of the box.
