Stunning Italian vintage musical jewellery box playing 'Come Back to Sorrento'. Beautiful exotic Zebrano and striped Ebony wood veneers. Beautiful inlaid scene on the lid.

This is a stunning Italian vintage musical jewellery box. It has beautiful exotic wood veneers and a colourful inlaid feature on the lid.
The Exterior
The lid has exotic Zebrano/Zebrawood veneer and a beautiful inlaid scene made up of various colourful woods. The scene is extremely decorative. It features a mandolin, an oboe, a musical score sheet and scrolling leaves.
The rest of the box has an exotic striped Ebony wood veneer.
The box is complete with its original polished gold metal piano hinge. It stands raised on its original gold metal feet.
The bottom of the box has retained its original song title label. Details of the musical movement and song are below.
The Interior
The interior has a single small compartment on the left and this has a ring storage section to the side. The musical movement is cased to the right of the compartment.
The compartment has a soft plush red velvety type lining and the cover above the movement is lined with the same.
The inside of the lid has very beautiful striped Asian Ebony wood veneer.
The Musical Movement
The movement plays the beautiful Italian tune 'Torna a Surriento' (Torna a Sorrento). The English translation of this is 'Come Back To Sorrento'. It is a beautiful Neapolitan song which was composed in 1902 by Ernesto De Curtis. The song has since been sung by numerous performers such as Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and each of the three tenors, to name just a few!
The movement is in perfect working order and plays the tune at its correct speed. The music stops as it should, when the movement is unwound or when the lid is closed.
There is a protective plastic cover above the movement (beneath the lined cover) which prevents it being damaged by dust and dirt. These covers can be removed if the movement ever requires attention.
Operating The Musical Movement
The movement is operated via the winding key on the bottom of the box. Four turns of the key are adequate to fully wind the movement.
Notes On Vintage Musical Movements
Care must be taken not to overwind the movement. Over winding will result in the movement malfunctioning.
Vintage movements are already old and so will naturally have some wear from age and use. They may occasionally malfunction or deteriorate over time.
We are not responsible for movements that may deteriorate or malfunction from further age and use once a box is purchased. Neither are we responsible for movements that malfunction from overwinding.
Please ensure the movement is still working as soon as you receive your box. It will be checked again prior to posting.

This beautiful box is in excellent condition. It has only very minor light wear.
The interior linings are in good condition with no splits or fraying. They have a few light marks.
The musical movement is in perfect working order.
