This is a beautiful vintage jewellery box, dating to the 1950s. It is made of Oak and has a stylish sarcophagus shape.
The Exterior
This box is made of Oak and has a stylish angular sarcophagus form. The Oak has been polished and has a beautiful glossy finish. The box stands slightly raised on wide angular feet and has its original solid brass hinges.
The Interior
The interior has a removable storage tray with 3 compartments and a single larger compartment is beneath this. All of the compartments have their original blue felt linings. The inside of the lid is lined with the same.
Condition
This box is in lovely vintage condition. It has sound structure and only minor wear. There are a few shallow surface dints which do not spoil the beautiful overall appearance of the box.
The interior felt linings are in good condition. They are neatly fitted and have no splits or fraying. The edges of the felt have slight fading and those to the tray have a few marks.
The condition is commensurate with age and honest use.
The hinges are still perfectly positioned and in very good working order.
