Beautiful small inlaid jewellery box, made in Sorrento, Italy. Lovely soft plush velour lining to the interior. Vintage, 1980s or 90s.

This is a beautiful small vintage jewellery box which was made in Sorrento, Italy. It dates to the 1980s/1990s.
The Exterior
The exterior has a beautiful Burlwood veneer which has been polished to a high gloss finish.
The lid has beautiful inlaid decoration and a lovely Mahogany veneered frame. The inlay is made from several varieties of wood and features a mandolin, musical scores, plus flowers and leaves.
The box is complete with its original gold metal piano hinge. This is a quality 'stop' hinge which holds the lid upright.
The Interior
The interior has a single small storage compartment which is lined with soft plush deep red velour. It has a beautiful Mahogany veneer that matches the frame on the lid.
Condition
This beautiful box is in excellent condition with very little wear.
All of the inlay is present and intact.
The interior velour has no stains, splits or fraying.
There is one fine surface scratch on the right side of the box.

5.5cm square with a 3.0cm depth.
