Beautiful vintage Italian jewellery box from Sorrento. Beautiful burl wood veneered finish and decorative inlay to the lid. Deep ebonised finish to the edges of the lid. Soft brushed felt linings.

This is a beautiful vintage jewellery box, made in Sorrento in Italy. It dates to the 1980s and is in very good condition.
The Exterior
The exterior has beautiful burl wood veneer and a wonderful high polished and varnished finish. This finish has given the wood a beautiful smoothness and a lovely glossy sheen.
The lid has very decorative inlay which features a scrolled musical score sheet, a violin, an oboe and beautiful flowers. The edges of the lid are beautifully shaped and have a dark ebonised finish. This contrasts beautifully against the lighter burl wood veneer.
The box has a polished gold metal piano hinge.
The bottom of the box has retained its original Made In Italy label and has soft felt pads to protect the surfaces of furniture.
The Interior
The interior has a single storage compartment with a soft brushed felt lining to protect its contents. The inside of the lid has a beautiful Mahogany veneer. This has a gorgeous glossy polished and varnished finish.
Condition
This beautiful box is in very good condition. It has sound structure and very little wear.
The interior lining is in lovely condition. It is clean, neatly fitted and has no splits or fraying.
The hinge is a little stiff as the box has had very little use. Please gently push the lid backwards until it stays upright.
