Two lovely antique jewellery boxes with a burgundy leather finish and their original interior satin and velvet linings. Both boxes are identical in style but with each being a different size.

Two lovely antique late Victorian leather boxes. These boxes are being sold as a pair, with both being identical in style, yet one a medium and the other a small size. Both have their original working locks plus keys.
The Exterior
The exteriors have a rich deep burgundy leather finish; the smaller having a slightly darker shade. The front and rear sides of the lids have a lovely rounded finish, and both the lids and fronts have an embossed and gilded finish.
Both boxes have their original oval brass keyhole escutcheons, brass stop hinges and working brass locks. The smaller of the two has its original key; the larger has a vintage replacement key which has been fitted to the lock.
The Interior
The interiors of both boxes are identical. Both have removable storage trays with three compartments and a ring storage section, and both have single larger compartments beneath.
The central compartments in the trays have circular rings which were originally designed to hold pocket watches. These would now look lovely with lockets or pendants within them and/or a slim bracelet/bangle placed around them.
The exteriors of the trays have a burgundy leather finish and the top edges have a gilded finish. All of this complements the boxes exteriors. Both trays have their original satin and velvet linings, and the lower compartments plus the insides of the lids have their original satin linings.
Condition
These boxes are in very good condition for their age. They have sound structure and only minor light wear, commensurate with age and honest use.
The interior linings are still neatly fitted and have no splits or fraying. They have minor light wear.
The hinges and locks are still in good working order.

We would like to make you aware that antique locks can occasionally malfunction. They are already very old and so will naturally have some wear from age and use.
We are not responsible for locks that may malfunction from further age and use once boxes are purchased. Please ensure the lock is still working as soon as you receive your box. It will be checked again prior to posting.

These boxes will be posted FREE within the UK by Royal Mail Next Day Special Delivery.
International postage is £30 by Royal Mail International Tracked and/or Signed For postage. Delivery is fast, within 3-5 working days to Europe and 5-7 working days to the rest of the world. Delivery may be longer depending on the speed of your local postal service and/or if your parcel has to go through customs. Please note that we cannot deliver to international PO boxes as we use a secure insured postal service that requires a signature.
