This is a beautiful vintage jewellery box with multiple compartments and ring storage sections. It was made in Sweden in the 1970s and is in good condition for its age. The box has a soft faux velvet finish.

This is a beautiful vintage jewellery box with multiple compartments and ring storage sections. It was made in Sweden in the 1970s and is in good condition for its age.
The Exterior
This box has a lovely soft faux velvet finish which is a beautiful light pastel pink colour. The velvet to the lid has very decorative flower and leaf motifs which are a lovely contrasting darker pink colour. The pastel pink is slightly lighter than it appears in the photos.
The box has its original polished gold metal clasp/lock and key. Once unlocked, the clasp releases by sliding its bottom section to the right.
The box is complete with its original hinges.
The Designer
This box was manufactured by Design Philipp, a Swedish company that have been boxmakers for Royalty since 1834, and who are renowned for their beautiful faux leather and faux velvet jewellery boxes. Their stamp is on the rear of the box.
The Interior
The interior has two ring storage sections and multiple compartments of various shapes and sizes. These are perfect for keeping different types of jewellery separate, e.g, silver and gold, rings and earrings, bangles and bracelets, small and large pieces. The four long rectangular compartments are perfect for laying out chains/necklaces.
The top of the interior has a removable tray. This has six compartments plus the two aforementioned ring storage sections. There are a further five compartments beneath the tray.
The inside of the lid has a lovely oval mirror.
All of the compartments plus the inside of the lid, have their original soft brushed faux velvet linings. These are a lovely light pastel grey colour. There is a beautiful flower motif impressed into the faux velvet to the right of the mirror. This matches the main motif on the lid's exterior.
Condition
This box has sound structure and is in good condition for its age. There is some minor wear to the faux velvet in some areas but this doesn't spoil the beautiful overall appearance of the box.
There are a few small stains to the faux velvet on the bottom of the box.
The interior faux velvet is clean and has only very minor light wear from previous jewellery storage.
The hinges, clasp and lock are in good working order.

Note: There is a shorter 2.5cm depth to the top edges of the partitions within the lower compartments.
