A beautifully made and inlaid jewellery box, dating to the 1920s/1930s Art Deco era. It is a lovely rare miniature example of larger boxes of this style, and it has its original MADE IN IRELAND/design number label on the bottom. The interior has been refurbished with beautiful emerald green satin.

This is a beautifully made and inlaid jewellery box, dating to the 1920s/1930s Art Deco era. It is a lovely rare miniature example of larger boxes of this style, and it has its original MADE IN IRELAND/design number label on the bottom. Its quality and style more than makes up for it diminutive size.
The Exterior
This wonderful box has light coloured Maple wood veneer and very decorative, geometric, vertical inlaid stripes. These lovely stripes are alternating Maple and dark stained inlays and they create a beautiful contrast of colour. There is further decorative inlay to the front and rear sides of the box.
The box has a classic Art Deco stepped form, with the lid itself creating the step effect. It has lovely rounded sides and stylish block feet with a stepped design to compliment the form of the box.
The box is complete with its original hinges.
The bottom of the feet have felt coverings which will protect the surfaces of furniture.
The Interior
The interior has been beautifully refurbished by our skilled box restorer. The compartment plus the rear panel of the lid, have gorgeous new emerald green satin linings. The base panel to the compartment is lightly padded, providing cushioned protection for jewellery. Emerald satin was used to pay homage to Ireland, fondly and often referred to as The Emerald Isle.

Condition
This wonderful box is still in fantastic condition. It has sound structure and no cracks. All of the inlay is present and securely seated, set flush into the Maple wood veneer. There is minor light wear to the veneer along the back edge of the lid.
The interior linings, being new, are in immaculate clean and unworn condition.
The hinges are still in good working order.

Please use the following measurements to ensure the box is the right size for your requirements. It is a charming small size which will hold a small collection of jewellery... perhaps ideal for the storage of a few of your most treasured pieces.
