A fabulous vintage solid Oak jewellery box. It is a high quality, weighty handmade box, extremely well made and still in excellent condition. The interior has been partially refurbished with beautiful new satin linings.

This is a fabulous vintage solid Oak jewellery box. It is a high quality, weighty handmade box, extremely well made and still in excellent condition. The interior has been partially refurbished with beautiful new satin linings.
The Exterior
This box is made of solid Oak which has a beautiful grain and a stained finish. The figuring within the Oak on the lid is particularly beautiful.
The body of the box has stylish angled sides and a beautiful bulbous formation around the bottom. The lid is also very stylish, with its central raised panel and shallow pyramid like design.
The box is complete with its original stop hinges which hold the lid upright. It stands raised on its original solid Oak feet.
The bottom of the box has its original textured fabric covering.
The Interior
The interior has its original lift out storage tray at the top and a further single compartment beneath. The tray has been refurbished with new 'champagne' satin linings. The base panel is padded, providing cushioned protection for jewellery.
The compartment beneath the tray has a new padded 'champayne' satin base panel.
The champagne satin is a pale gold like colour.
The inside of the lid has its original brocade silk panel. This has a textured foliate pattern with an embroidered like appearance.
Age
Circa 1950s/60s with an older Edwardian/Victorian inspired design.
Condition
This box has sound structure and is in excellent condition with only very minor light age related wear.
The hinges are still in perfect working order.
The interior satin linings, being new, are in immaculate condition.
The original silk panel within the lid is also in superb condition with no splits or fraying.
There is some fading to the stained finish on the Oak, to the lid and front of the box.
