This is a very stylish mid 20th century box, dating to the 1950s/1960s. We have uniquely refurbished the interior compartment to convert it into a box which is now functional for jewellery storage.

This is a stylish mid 20th century box, dating to the 1950s/1960s. We have uniquely refurbished the interior compartment to convert it into a box which is now functional for jewellery storage.
The Exterior
This wonderful old box is made of solid wood which has been newly stained and varnished. It has a stylish streamlined design with angular octagonal prism shaped legs and there is a lovely shallow triangular prism form to the lid.
The box is handmade and likely a bespoke, one-off creation.
The Interior
The interior compartment has been newly refurbished. The base and longest walls have beautiful new bespoke chocolate velvet panels and the two shorter walls have new quality printed paper linings. The velvet base panel is padded, providing cushioned protection for jewellery. The printed paper linings feature a beautiful butterfly and flowers. The refurbishment is unique to this box.
The New Velvet/Paper Linings
These have been completely handmade to ensure they fit the compartment perfectly. Quality premium cotton velvet with a 'vintage' finish has been used. This is plush and has a beautiful tight weave.

Condition
This box is still in excellent condition despite its 60/70 years of age. It has sound structure and only minor light wear, commensurate with age and honest use.
The interior linings, being new, are in immaculate condition.
Note: The box maker has positoned one of the legs upside down. This isn't overly noticeable and we think it rather adds to the box's charm!

International postage is £30 by Royal Mail International Tracked and/or Signed For postage. Delivery is fast, within 3-5 working days to Europe and 5-7 working days to the rest of the world. Delivery may be longer depending on the speed of your local postal service and/or if your parcel has to go through customs. Please note that we cannot deliver to international PO boxes as we use a secure insured postal service that requires a signature.
