This is a lovely small Italian jewellery box with a decorative hallmarked silver plaque on the lid. It is the perfect size for a special solitary piece of jewellery, such as a ring, pendant, brooch or a pair of earrings. Please see the measurements below.
The Exterior
This box is made of solid wood and has a beautiful Italian silver plaque on the lid. The plaque has pretty repousse decoration which features entwined vines, and at its centre it has a vacant (unengraved) cartouche. This can be engraved with a short name, date or initials if desired. Your local jeweller or keycutter should provide this service.
The box has lovely rounded edges/sides and is stained a deep mahogany shade.
Hallmark/Maker's Mark/Age
The silver has an Italian hallmark which loosely dates the plaque to between 1968 and the present year. The hallmark bears three stamps - a star, 146 and AN. 146 is the silversmith's registration number and AN is the abbreviation of the Italian province where the silversmith is registered, in this case Ancona. There is also a separate 925 silver purity stamp, plus a further 1÷2g stamp. The latter indicates the silver weight to be between 1 and 2 grams.
The Interior
The base of the interior compartment has a beautiful new padded burgundy velvet panel. The velvet complements the colour of the box and provides cushioned protection for jewellery.
Condition
This box is in excellent pre-loved condition with very little wear. There is only minor light wear to the silver.
The interior velvet panel, being new, is in immaculate unused condition.

International postage is £30 by Royal Mail International Tracked and/or Signed For postage. Delivery is fast, within 3-5 working days to Europe and 5-7 working days to the rest of the world. Delivery may be longer depending on the speed of your local postal service and/or if your parcel has to go through customs. Please note that we cannot deliver to international PO boxes as we use a secure insured postal service that requires a signature.
