A lovely William IV Rosewood veneered jewellery box with a beautiful refurbished satin lined interior. Circa 1830-1835.

This is a lovely antique Rosewood jewellery box with a beautiful newly refurbished interior.
Date
Early William IV. Circa 1830-1835.
The Exterior
This box has wonderful Rosewood veneer which has a beautiful rich colour and superb figuration. It has a very stylish sarcophagus shape and a raised panel to the centre of the lid. The panel has a frame of beautiful beaded moulding and the keyhole has a beautiful inlaid Mother of Pearl escutcheon.
The bottom of the box has a new decorative patterned paper covering and its original beautifully turned bun feet.
The box is complete with its original brass 'stop' hinges which hold the lid upright. Please note that the lock is not functional and therefore has no key.
The Interior
The interior has been fully refurbished by our skilled box restorer.
The compartment has new red satin panels. The base panel is lightly padded, providing cushioned protection for jewellery.
The inside of the lid also has a new red satin panel, with the surrounding walls having new quality red paper linings.

Condition
This box has sound structure and is in very fair condition for its age. It has some fine superficial age cracks to the raised panel on the lid. These are consolidated and in no way affect the box's structure. There is minor light wear to the veneer.
The new interior linings are in clean unused condition.
