This is a beautiful Art Deco jewellery box, dating to the 1930s. It has a beautiful fully refurbished interior and is in lovely condition for its 90 plus years of age!
The Exterior
This box has beautiful Walnut veneer which has superb figuration and a warm rich colour. There is a band of highly decorative Macassar Ebony veneer running down the centre of the lid and front, and wide crossbands of Walnut veneer on either side of this. The Walnut veneer panels have been beautifully positioned to create a lovely symmetrical pattern with the Walnut's figuration.
There is a stylish lipped handle to the lid that enables you to lift it up with ease.
The box has a stylish 'flat' streamlined design which was very popular throughout the Art Deco era.
The box stands raised on its original block feet and it also has its original high-quality retractable quadrant hinges.
The Interior
The interior has a single storage compartment that has been newly refurbished by ourselves. The base of the compartment has a new padded printed cotton panel and the walls have new dusky pink 'antique rose' velvet linings.
The New Panels and Linings
All of these are completely handmade in order to fit the compartment perfectly. The padded base panel provides cushioned protection for jewellery.
The velvet is high-quality cotton velvet with a short plush pile and tight weave.
The printed cotton panel has a Liberty style. It is apple green and features multi coloured flowers with pastel shades.

Condition
This beautiful box is in very good condition for its age. It has sound structure and only minor light wear, commensurate with age and honest use.
The interior panels and linings, being new, are in immaculate unworn unused condition.

International postage is £30 by Royal Mail International Tracked and/or Signed For postage. Delivery is fast, within 3-5 working days to Europe and 5-7 working days to the rest of the world. Delivery may be longer depending on the speed of your local postal service and/or if your parcel has to go through customs. Please note that we cannot deliver to international PO boxes as we use a secure insured postal service that requires a signature.
