A charming small antique Edwardian jewellery box with a textured black leather finish and a partially refurbished interior. Circa 1901-1910.
This is a charming small antique Edwardian jewellery box, dating to 1901-1910. It has a partially refurbished interior with multiple compartments and a ring storage section.
The Exterior
This box has a textured black leather covering and a diamond shaped metal escutcheon to the keyhole. It is complete with its original stop hinges which hold the lid upright and it also has its original lock.
The bottom of the box has a new blue felt covering which will protect the surfaces of furniture.
Please note the lock is not functional and therefore has no key.
The Interior
The interior has a removal storage tray at the top which has three compartments plus a ring storage section. There is a larger single compartment beneath the tray.
The bases of all compartments plus the inside of the lid, have new padded navy blue velvet panels. The padding provides cushioned protection for jewellery. The walls of the lower compartment have new blue paper linings.
The ring storage section has its original beige velvet covering.
The leather covering to the inside of the lid is dark blue.
The interior and exterior of the storage tray has a thin blue faux leather finish.
Condition
This box has sound structure and is in fair condition for its age.
There is some minor wear/marks to the exterior leather.
All of the new velvet panels and paper linings are in clean unused condition.
The faux leather finish to the storage tray has quite a lot of wear. The original velvet to the ring section within the tray has some minor wear/discolouration.
The hinges are still in good working order.

Interior Storage Tray - Centre Compartment:
5.0cm square with a 1.4cm depth.
Interior Storage Tray - Left & Right Compartments:
5.0 by 3.5cm with a 1.4cm depth.
Ring Storage Section:
Holds approx 5-6 rings depending on their shape and size.
Interior Lower Compartment:
12.6 by 8.8cm with a 2.5cm depth.

This box will be posted FREE within the UK by Royal Mail Next Day Special Delivery.
International postage is £30 by Royal Mail International Tracked and/or Signed For postage. Delivery is fast, within 3-5 working days to Europe and 5-7 working days to the rest of the world. Delivery may be longer depending on the speed of your local postal service and/or if your parcel has to go through customs. Please note that we cannot deliver to international PO boxes as we use a secure insured postal service that requires a signature.
