This is a beautiful vintage jewellery box, featuring a nicely detailed lion on the lid. The interior compartment has been fully refurbished with velvet.

This is a beautiful vintage jewellery box, featuring a nicely detailed lion on the lid. The interior compartment has been fully refurbished with velvet.
The Exterior
This box has a beautiful dark stained finish which has given it a Rosewood like effect. There is a wonderful large moulded resin lion on the lid which has a detailed shaggy mane and facial features, plus faceted red crystals set into the eyes.
The lion is seated upon a lovely raised panel which has given the lid a stepped design, and the box is seated on a lovely plinth base. These features have given the box a 1920s/30s Art Deco feel.
The sides of the box are nicely rounded and feature resin panels which have embossed scrolling leaves and flowers.
The lion has a stained bronzed effect finish.
The box is complete with its original hinges.
The Interior
The interior compartment has been fully refurbished with new dusky pink 'antique rose' velvet panels. The base panel is plumply padded, providing cushioned protection for jewellery.
The interior wood has a black lacquered finish.
Age
1970s (estimated).
Condition
This box is in good vintage condition. It has sound structure and no cracks. There is some minor age related wear in a few areas - predominantly to the bottom of the box which cannot be seen unless the box is turned over.
The interior linings, being new, are in immaculate condition with no stains or wear.

International postage is £30 by Royal Mail International Tracked and/or Signed For postage. Delivery is fast, within 3-5 working days to Europe and 5-7 working days to the rest of the world. Please note that we cannot deliver to international PO boxes as we use a secure insured postal service that requires a signature.
