A beautiful Victorian jewellery box, circa 1880-1890. Beautiful Walnut veneer plus inlaid decoration to the lid and keyhole. Fully refurbished interior with padded velvet panels and quality paper linings.

This is a beautiful antique Victorian jewellery box, dating to 1880-1890. It has a beautiful fully refurbished interior.
The Exterior
This box has a lovely Walnut veneered finish and beautiful inlaid detail to the lid. The centre of the lid has a burl Walnut veneered panel which features an inlaid diamond shaped cartouche. This is surrounded by a beautiful frame of symmetrical inlay. The inlay is made up of several varieties of hardwoods/fruitwoods.
The keyhole has a complimentary diamond shaped inlaid escutcheon.
The box is complete with its original brass stop hinges which hold the lid upright. It also has its original brass lock. Please note the lock is not working and therefore has no key.
The bottom of the box has a new felt covering which will protect the surfaces of furniture.
The Walnut veneer and inlays have been newly polished to bring back their original colours and sheen.
The Interior
The interior has been newly refurbished by ourselves. The walls have high quality new purple paper linings and the base of the compartment plus the inside of the lid have new padded deep violet velvet panels. The padding provides cushioned protection for jewellery.
The inside top edges of the box have a lovely dark ebonised finish.

Condition
This box is still in very good condition despite its 135-145 years of age. There is some minor light wear to the Walnut veneer and inlays. This is commensurate with age and honest use and in no way affects the box's sound structure.
The hinges are still in good working order.
The interior paper linings and velvet panels, being new, are in immaculate unused condition.

Delivery may be longer depending on the speed of your local postal service and/or if your package has to go through customs. Please note that we cannot deliver to international PO boxes as we use a secure insured postal service that requires a signature.
