A beautiful mid 20th century vintage musical jewellery box with a fully refurbished velvet and paper lined interior.

This is a beautiful vintage inlaid musical jewellery box with a fabulous fully refurbished interior.
The Exterior
This box is made of solid wood and has a beautiful veneered finish. The lid has a decorative symmetrical feature, consisting of several inlaid circles of varying shapes, sizes and timbers. The lid and the base have beautiful flowing curves.
The box is complete with its original feet and piano hinge.
The exterior wood has a glossy, polished and varnished finish.
The Interior
The interior has three compartments, all newly refurbished by ourselves. The bases of each compartment have new padded deep violet velvet panels and the walls have beautiful quality purple paper linings. The padding provides cushioned protection for jewellery.
The musical movement is concealed beneath the centre compartment. The velvet panel in this compartment is removable, allowing access to the movement should it ever require attention. Please see the notes below on how to access the movement.
The inside of the lid has its original fitted mirror which is secured by a lovely wooden frame.

The Musical Movement
The movement plays a pretty tune, the title of which we haven't deciphered. You can listen to it playing on our Facebook video by clicking on the link below. Alternatively, please contact us and we will send you the video via email or whatsapp.

The winding key is located on the bottom of the box.
Operating The Movement
Five turns of the key are sufficient to wind up the musical movement. The music stops as it should, when the lid is closed or when the movement has fully unwound.
Notes On Vintage Musical Movements
As with all musical boxes, care should be taken not to overwind the movement. Over winding will result in the movement malfunctioning.
Vintage movements are already old and so will naturally have some wear from age and use. They may occasionally deteriorate or malfunction over time.
We are not responsible for movements that may deteriorate/malfunction from further age and use once a box is purchased. Neither are we responsible for movements that malfunction from overwinding.
Please check the movement as soon as you receive your box. They will be checked again prior to posting.

This box is in excellent condition for its age. It has sound structure and no damage.
The interior linings, being new, are in immaculate unworn condition.
The hinge is still in perfect working order.
The mirror is clear and has no chips or cracks.

8.5 by 4.4cm with a 5.0cm depth.

International postage is £30 by Royal Mail International Tracked and/or Signed For postage. Delivery is fast, within 3-5 working days to Europe and 5-7 working days to the rest of the world. Delivery may be longer depending on the speed of your local postal service and/or if your parcel has to go through customs. Please note that we cannot deliver to international PO boxes as we use a secure insured postal service that requires a signature.
