A lovely hand-made antique jewellery box with a fully refurbished velvet lined interior. It was made during the Arts & Crafts movement of the Art Nouveau period, circa1890/1900.

This is a lovely hand-made antique jewellery box with a fully refurbished interior. It was made during the Arts & Crafts movement of the Art Nouveau period, circa1890/1900.
The Exterior
The box has its original hand-painted sage green finish and its original transfer print on the lid. The print features beautiful Roses, both budding and in full bloom, within a decorative frame of scrolling vines and berries.
The bottom of the box has a new felt covering which will protect the surfaces of furniture.
The box has its original hinges and metal keyhole escutcheon.
Please note the lock is no longer functional and therefore has no key. Please see the notes in the condition section below.
The Interior
We have beautifully refurbished the entirety of the interior.
The base of the compartment has a new light pink velvet panel, plumply padded to provide cushioned protection for jewellery.
The walls of both the compartment and inside lid, have new light pink velvet linings.
The rear panel inside the lid has a beautiful new pastel pink patterned paper lining which features roses. This complements the roses on the lid. The paper is surrounded by a frame of darker pink twisted silk cord.
The top edges of the interior walls have been painted pink by a previous owner.
Condition
This lovely old box has sound structure and is in fair condition for its age. It has some wear from age and honest use. There is some minor loss of paint and some wear to the transfer print. The wear has resulted in the box having a natural 'shabby chic' appearance and a certain charm and character. Please take the wear into consideration before purchasing the box as it may not appeal to some.
The interior velvet and paper linings are in clean unworn condition, being new.
The lock is not functional and the lock keep has been removed by a previous owner at some point.

International postage is £30 by Royal Mail International Tracked and/or Signed For postage. Delivery is fast, within 3-5 working days to Europe and 5-7 working days to the rest of the world. Delivery may be longer depending on the speed of your local postal service and/or if your parcel has to go through customs. Please note that we cannot deliver to international PO boxes as we use a secure insured postal service that requires a signature.
