A wonderful old vintage jewellery box with a beautiful newly refurbished interior and its original hand-painted decoration. It dates to the 1940s and is in lovely condition.

This is a wonderful old vintage jewellery box with a beautiful newly refurbished interior and its original hand-painted decoration. It dates to the 1940s and is in lovely condition.
The Exterior
This box is made of solid Oak which has a beautiful grain and polished finish. The lid has beautiful hand-painted flowers - predominantly Forget-Me-Nots. These give the box a warm sentiment and they complement a message that is on the base of the left compartment inside. Futher details on this are below.
The box has its original hinges which are in excellent working order.
The bottom of the box has a new felt covering which will protect the surfaces of furniture.
The Interior
The interior has been newly refurbished and looks absolutely beautiful. It has two compartments of the same size.
The bases of the compartments have beautiful new deep purple velvet panels. These are padded, providing cushioned protection for jewellery. The velvet is high-quality premium cotton velvet. These panels have lovely black silk ribbon pulls, enabling them to be carefully removed from the box. We have made them removable so that a lovely message in the bottom of the left compartment can be viewed. This message reads 'Thinking of You' and it was created using a Pokerwork technique, also known as Pyrography (the art of burning letters and motifs, etc, into wood). A small treasured photo or perhaps a hand written (love) note, can be placed beneath the velvet panel of the right compartment if desired.
The walls of the compartments have quality purple paper linings and the inside of the lid has a floral patterned paper lining. This has beautiful flowers and was chosen to complement the Forget-Me-Nots.
Condition
This wonderful old box is in very good condition. It has sound structure and only minor light age related wear.
The hinges are still in excellent working order.
The interior velvet panels and paper linings are in immaculate condition, being new.
