Superb vintage 3 drawer jewellery chest in the form of a miniature chest of drawers. Made of solid stained Oak and beautifully inlaid. The drawers have turned Mahogany knobs with inlaid polished brass detail. The box is handmade and of very high quality.

This is a wonderful vintage jewellery chest in the form of a miniature chest of drawers. It is a handmade, bespoke, one-off piece, which was made specifically for its original recipient. The chest is high-quality, solid and weighty.
The Exterior
This chest is made of beautiful solid stained Oak. It has a beautifully inlaid circle on the lid which consists of numerous triangular pieces of wood, of which there are several varieties. These have all been beautifully positioned to create the circular feature. There is a lovely inlaid frame surrounding the circle.
There is a beautiful stylish stepped design to the edges on the top of the chest.
There are 3 solid Oak drawers to the front which have beautifully turned Mahogany knobs. These have inlaid polished brass centres. Behind the knobs are beautifully inlaid circles which have the exact same design as the circle on the top. There are further strips of inlay on either side of the knobs. All of the inlay is set beautifully flush into the Oak.
The bottom of the box has the name 'Joan' beautifully carved upon it, in stylish fancy script. This is the name of the chest's original owner.
The chest stands raised on its original block feet. These have been beautifully merged into the left and ride sides of the chest. Each side panel is slightly indented. This has created further style and dimension to the chest.
The Drawers Interiors
The interiors of all 3 drawers are stained and unlined. This allows the beautiful grain of the Oak to be seen.
Age
Circa 1950s/1960s.
Condition
This beautiful box is in wonderful condition. It has sound structure and very little wear.
The stain has faded in some areas to the top of the chest. Keeping the box out of direct sunlight will prevent further fading.
