A beautiful small antique Edwardian jewellery box with exotic wood veneer and a fully refurbished interior. Working lock and key.

This is a beautiful small antique Edwardian jewellery box with exotic wood veneer and a fully refurbished interior.
The Exterior
This box has beautiful exotic burl wood veneer, thought to be Amboyna, Birds Eye Maple or another similar exotic timber.
There is a beautiful inlaid shield shape brass cartouche to the lid and a complementary inlaid diamond shape brass escutcheon to the keyhole.
The edges of the left and right sides of the lid/box have lovely pewter stringing.
The box has its original working lock and key.
The bottom of the box has a new felt covering which will protect the surfaces of furniture.
The Interior
The interior has been newly refurbished by ourselves. The base of the compartment has a padded deep violet velvet panel and the walls have beautiful quality purple paper linings.
The inside of the lid has a quality patterned paper lining which features several flower varieties. The surrounding walls have quality purple paper linings which match those in the storage compartment. The inside lid is beautifully finished with a frame of purple silk twist cord.
Age
Edwardian, circa 1901-1910.
Condition
This box is in very fair condition for its age. It has sound structure and no nasty scratches.
There are small nibbles to the veneer/pewter stringing, to the corners of the box/lid. These are not overly noticeable. There are two replacement pins in the top section of the right hinge.
The interior linings, being new, are in immaculate unworn condition.
