This is a lovely mid 20th century jewellery box, dating to the 1950s/1960s but with an earlier Art Nouveau inspired design made popular during the late 1800s/early 1900s. The interior compartments have been beautifully refurbished.
The Exterior
This box is made of cream Bakelite. It has a beautiful satin covering to the lid which has a print featuring organic fruits and flowers. The satin is a lovely pastel green shade with rosy pink hues to the flowers. The fruits and flowers are interwoven with vines. The print is reminiscent of designs by William Morris. The base of the box has a soft velvet-like cream fabric covering.
