A beautiful vintage Chinese jewellery cabinet, dating to the 1970s. It is a lovely rare miniature example of larger boxes of this style!

This is a beautiful vintage Chinese jewellery cabinet, dating to the 1970s. It is a lovely rare miniature example of larger boxes of this style, and it has its original MADE IN SHANGHAI CHINA label on the bottom. It is profusely decorated with both Jade and brass ornamentation.
The Exterior
This box is made of solid wood which has a rich deep Mahogany coloured stain and a protective varnished finish. There are extremely decorative pierced brass corner protecters; a pierced brass plate and swing handle to the lid; a pierced brass plate and swing handle to the exterior bottom drawer, and decorative brass hinges and handles for the upper cabinet doors. The doors are further decorated with beautiful pieces of pierced and carved natural Jade, secured with decorative brass fitments.
There is further complementary decorative brass and Jade ornamentation to both sides of the box.
The bottom drawer has a single compartment plus ring storage to the left of this. It is lined with floral patterned brocade silk linings.
The bottom of the box has its original MADE IN SHANGHAI CHINA label.
The Interior
The interior has two storage drawers, concealed by the exterior cabinet doors. Both of these have floral patterned brocade silk linings and decorative brass handles.
Condition
This lovely box is still in very good condition. It has sound structure and no damage. There is minor light wear to the wood.
All of the silk linings are in clean condition with no splits or fraying.
The hinges are still in good working order and all of the handles are still securely attached.

Please use the following measurements to ensure the box is the right size for your requirements. It is a charming small size which will hold a small collection of jewellery... perhaps ideal for the storage of your most treasured pieces.

6.7 by 5.8cm with a 3.3cm depth. The ring storage section holds three rings.
