A beautiful Art Deco jewellery box with a lovely horse related theme and a fully refurbished velvet lined interior.

This is a beautifully refurbuished Art Deco jewellery box. It dates to the 1920s/1930s and would make a wonderful gift for a horse lover or equestrian.
The Exterior
This box is made of solid silver plated metal and has a beautiful brass finished plate in the lid. This features a beautifully embossed horse, horseshoe, stirrups, crop and horn. The lid has a stylish lipped handle that enables you to lift it up with ease. The base and interior have their original wood linings.
We have recently, carefully, polished the metal (which had an awful lot of tarnish) to bring back much of its original shine. It still retains some of its lovely old patina.
The Interior
The interior has been newly refurbished by ourselves to make it much more functional for jewellery storage. The base of the compartment plus the inside of the lid have new plush burgundy velvet panels. The panel to the base is padded, providing cushioned protection for jewellery. The walls of the compartment have new red paper linings.
Condition
This box is still in good condition, despite its 90/100 years of age. There are some light surface scratches to the metal but no unsightly dings or dents. A small amount of stubborn tarnish remains, mainly confined to the bottom of the box. There is some minor wear to the silver plated finish.
The wear is commensurate with age and honest use. Please take this wear into account as it may not be suitable for those who prefer a newer, more faultless appearance.
The interior linings, being new, are in immaculate unused/unworn condition.
The hinge is in excellent working order.

Please note that we cannot deliver to international PO boxes as we use a secure insured postal service that requires a signature.
