A beautiful Art Deco jewellery box with decorative hand-painted parrots and flowers, and a newly refurbished interior.

This is a beautiful Art Deco jewellery box, dating to the mid 1930s. It is a wonderful hand-made, hand-decorated box and has a newly refurbished interior.
The Exterior
This box is made of solid wood and is a beautiful hand-made item. It has a decorative pokerwork (pyrographic) chequered pattern all over and beautiful hand-painted parrots and potted flowers.
The bottom of the box has a new felt covering which will protect the surfaces of furniture.
The box is very likely a one-off, bespoke made item. We have never come across another like it.
Age
The box was made in June 1935. This date is on the base of the box, beneath the new felt covering. Please see the photos provided.
The Interior
The interior compartment has been newly refurbished by ourselves. The base of the compartment has a new floral printed cotton panel and the walls have a new emerald green velvet lining. These fabrics were chosen to complement the painted decoration/subjects on the exterior.
The New Linings
These are completely handmade in order to fit the compartment perfectly. The panel to the base is padded, providing cushioned protection for jewellery.
The velvet is high-quality premium cotton velvet. This has a plush short pile and a lovely tight weave.
The floral cotton fabric is both pretty and colourful! It is a lovely Liberty style fabric and its yellow, blue and pale pink flowers upon its pale green background, contrast beautifully with the velvet.

Condition
This box is in lovely condition for its age! It has sound structure and only minor light wear, commensurate with age and honest use.
The interior linings, being new, are in immaculate unworn/unused condition.

This box will be posted FREE within the UK by Royal Mail Next Day Special Delivery.
International postage is £30 by Royal Mail International Tracked and/or Signed For postage. Delivery is fast, within 3-5 working days to Europe and 5-7 working days to the rest of the world. Delivery may be longer depending on the speed of your local postal service and/or if your parcel has to go through customs. Please note that we cannot deliver to international PO boxes as we use a secure insured postal service that requires a signature.
