Beautiful antique jewellery/trinket box, made of papier-mache. Made during the Victorian period and dating to the late 1800s.
This is a beautiful antique jewellery/trinket box, made of papier-mache. It was made during the Victorian period and dates to the late 1800s.
The lid has a pretty hand-painted scene of a bumblebee and flowers. The exterior has a black lacquered finish and the interior is lacquered red.
The box started life as a ladies glove box and now makes a functional jewellery/trinket box.
Condition
This beautiful box is in excellent condition for its 100 plus years of age. There is very little loss of paint and no chips or cracks. The lacquer has retained its gorgeous glossy sheen.
