Beautiful small Italian vintage jewellery box, made in Sorrento. Pretty floral inlay and a glossy polished and lacquered finish. Soft beige brushed velvety linings.

This is a beautiful small vintage jewellery box, dating to the 1980s. It was made in Sorrento, Southern Italy.
The Exterior
This box has lovely burl wood veneer and very pretty floral inlay to the lid. The inlay consists of several varieties of wood and there is a beautiful Satinwood frame to the lid.
There is lovely curvature to the body of the box and all of the wood has a highly polished and lacquered glossy finish.
The box is complete with its original polished gold metal piano hinge.
The Interior
The interior has a single small storage compartment. This has its original soft brushed beige velvet-like linings. The lining to the base is nicely padded, providing cushioned protection for jewellery.
The inside of the lid has beautiful glossy lacquered and polished Satinwood veneer.
Condition
This box is in excellent vintage condition with very little wear.
All of the inlay is present and intact.
The hinge is in very good working order.
The interior linings are neatly fitted. They are in lovely clean condition and have no splits or fraying.
There is one minor fine scratch to the lacquer to the inside of the lid. This is barely noticeable.
