This is a lovely Italian oval-shaped jewellery box with a beautiful sterling silver plaque to the lid. The silver is fully hallmarked.
The Exterior
This box has a navy blue soft felt covering and its lid is decorated with a hallmarked silver plaque. The plaque has a beautiful hammered finish and a very decorative frame of embossed scrolling leaves.
Hallmark/Makers Mark/Age
The silver has a full Italian hallmark which loosely dates it to between 1968 and the present year. It also has a 925 sterling silver purity stamp. The hallmark includes the silversmith's registration number (336) and the two-letter abbreviation (FI) of the province in Italy where the silversmith was registered. The FI abbreviation is for the province Firenze. There is also a 5÷7g stamp present, indicating the plaque has a resin base with a silver covering that weighs between 5 and 7 grams.
The Interior
The interior has a single felt-lined storage compartment.
Condition
This box is in excellent pre-loved condition with only minor light wear to the felt.
The silver is in very good condition. It has no dints and only minor light surface wear/light tarnish. The silver will be polished prior to posting the box.
