A lovely large vintage jewellery box, made in Sweden in the 1970s. Mottled cream faux leather finish. The interior has several storage compartments and its original soft dusky pink linings and oval mirror.

This is a beautiful vintage jewellery box. It was made in Sweden in the 1970s and is in remarkably good condition for its age.
The Exterior
This box has a lovely faux leather vinyl finish which has a decorative mottled cream colour. There is an embossed gold foliate frame to the lid and a complementary polished gold metal clasp.
The back of the box has embossed gold BOX MADE IN SWEDEN / DESIGN PHILIPP stamps. Design Philipp is the Swedish company who made this box and they are renowned for their beautiful faux leather jewellery boxes.
The clasp securely closes the lid. Please note the key is missing and therefore the box cannot be locked. The lid is opened by sliding the bottom section of the clasp to the right.
The Interior
The interior has a removable tray at the top which has three storage compartments plus a ring storage section. Beneath this is a further large single compartment which is very spacious. It is deep enough and roomy enough to hold a vast amount of jewellery, including large pieces such as watches, bangles and chunky beads, etc. The front compartment in the top tray is the ideal shape and size for laying out chains, and the rear compartments are ideal for keeping smaller pieces of jewellery separate, such as earrings, brooches and pendants. The ring storage section will hold 10-15 rings, depending on their sizes.
All of the compartments, plus the inside of the lid, have their original dusky pink soft brushed flock linings. The inside of the lid has its original oval mirror and a pretty embossed foliate frame upon the lining. This matches the gold embossed frame upon the lid.
Condition
This box is in superb condition for its age. It has sound structure and barely any wear which is remarkable for its 50 plus years of age! It is obvious that the box has seen very little use.
The vinyl is clean and has no unsightly marks.
The interior linings are also very clean and have no splits or fraying.
The mirror is secure and has no chips or cracks.
The clasp is still in excellent working order and keeps the lid securely closed.
There is a tiny split on the vinyl above the clasp on the inside top edge. This cannot be seen when the lid is closed.
